Cinder and Spatter
Live Audio Processing am Fairlight CMI (Computer Musical Instrument). 2017
UA 25.3.2017 Musikinstrumentenmuseum Berlin
im Rahmen der Ausstellung Good Vibrations Eine Geschichte der elektronischen Musikinstrumente

Three pieces for the Fairlight CMI, played live.
The following parameters are linked to the 3 control faders and 2 control buttons on the left side of the keyboard.
Fader 1 - Loop Start
Fader 2 - Loop Length
Fader 3 -  Vibrato Depth (pitch shift)
Switch 1 - Slur (sustains the loop)
Switch 2 - Portamento (smooth glissando)

/A > mp3
uses the Harmonic Profiles page.
Additive Synthesis - sine tones can be added to a fundamental pitch. Instead of constructing a sound with overtones, I build a little looped melody - using the light pen!

/B > mp3
uses the sample 'SUBMARINE' from the Fairlight Sample Disks Library (Disk: "Machines")
Since there is no time correction when pitching the samples, the sample loops display different rhythms throughout the range of the keyboard. Very short loops mutate into textures.

/C > mp3
uses the sample 'TJET' from the Fairlight Sample Disks Library (Disk: "Machines")
